Christmas Crafting Has Begun

I had great hopes for a marathon crafting weekend, as I'm going to try to make as many Christmas gifts as possible this year. Unfortunately, I woke up Friday morning with a terrible sore throat which is still hanging around. I did, however, manage to begin some easy projects that didn't require too much clear thinking. I worked slowly and spent a lot of time staring out the window, but at least I've made a start! I'm excited to try to make my ideas reality, and I'm excited to give gifts that were made with my own hands. I enjoy the challenge of crafting at this time of year. Are you making any gifts?

what beautiful pictures! I hope to do some baking for Christmas... this is a gift I can make, as I am not the craft-making type per say...

I think it is great that you are able to make your gifts! My sister and brother-in-law made candles for many people last year...

hope you are feeling better!

Beautiful images... I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I usually have the list dialed & half of it finished by now. I made honey-milk soap one year.. I'll have to think about this one.

How beautiful! I'm almost done with my Christmas crafting. Though this week I won't get to work on much, it's my big guy's birthday party. I've got 2 pairs of arm warmers and a set of vests (one for each) for my boys. :)

those are gorgeous and sparkly.

I am dialing back on gifts this year. Everyone has everything they really need. Though I do have two photo albums to buy - I'm hoping to find some at the artisans market next week.

This year my family and I are going "Handmade"....we have made votive candles in different scents, woollen scarves and toys...and of course some yummy cookies. I know I LOVE to receive handmade gifts...just the thought and effort that went into them make them extra special! Can't wait to see the final results of your crafting!

Great necklaces! I love making at least a few homemade gifts every year, and this year is mostly all homemade. I'm making aprons for all the girls in the family, food for the boys and body scrubs for my friends.

Oh dear! Not you, too! I started with a scratchy sore throat.....I feel your pain.

Crafting has to be good for your health!! I decided not to buy Christmas gifts this year and have hopes of making them instead.....I haven't started!

I love the blue and green necklaces, my favorite color combination. I'm sorry you've been sick but hopefully you'll get the rest you need and are feeling better!

In the past I've always done something handmade/homemade for gifts. This year, most of the adults (family and friends) in my life have requested to not exchange gifts and just focus on the little ones so I'm not sure if I'll do anything or not.

I was just thinking I need to find a nice Holiday Bazaar to participate in next year so I have an excuse to make a bunch of things! lol

Yes, I'm making gifts! I'm making trivets out of old magazines (or trying to, I should clarify)...and I plan on making a few paintings to give as gifts!
