Christmas Crafting: Beaded Suncatcher

A simple, if slightly time-consuming project: a beaded sun catcher for my dad's three-season patio. (His windows are cleaner than mine are!) I used an inexpensive doo-dad from JoAnn Fabric to wrap the wire in the shape it is, and then beaded away. I used a glass mix of small beads and beaded on wire, using crimp tubes to secure the ends of the wire, but perhaps monofilament line would work as well and wouldn't involve crimping.

All your projects are wonderful and inspiring. I especially like the calendar idea from a post or two previously. I'll be back to crafting in January. It's hard to do that kind of thing with company in the house.

That is very cool. I'm always struggling between decorations that enhance the space and decorations that make me feel cluttered. I'm also attempting to find things that are easily changed with the seasons and stored for another time, and a suncatcher like this would definitely brighten up my picture window in the winter.

Most of my holiday crafts are knitted hats. I've got the ones that I really needed done and now I'm about to cast on a stocking for Bella. I sent away to snapfish for a calendar, but I have all sorts of plans for other ways to use photos. Not that I'll actually get to them by christmas...
