Rest

My life is pretty simple compared to that of many people, but nevertheless it’s been busy lately. I’m looking forward to a quiet week and hoping to catch up on some craft projects, gardening, and essays that need work. Perhaps I’ll even do some baking this week – these photos are from September. One of my simplest pleasures lately is resting on the sofa under an old quilt with my dog curled up next to me. There is something quite endearing about cuddly pups.

What are your simple pleasures lately? And what do you have planned for the holiday week?

When our little one goes to bed, my husband and I jump into bed and just talk. This is my favorite part of the day because it is "our time" without any interruptions. Just thinking about it makes me cozy. This holiday weekend my husband and I are going to Constantinople for 5 days. Please pray for us that everything goes well. Have a good day.

Currently my simple pleasures are watching Bella on my lap, playing with her toes in the sunbeam. Starting Wednesday, it'll all be cooking baking and more baking. Thanksgiving is not what I had in mind this year, but it'll be with family and that's what matters. :O)

So true - simple pleasures are baking, sewing, and just having quiet time with myself. Sipping a hot drink, preferably hot chocolate with whipped cream.

Ooooh, like Presbytera, that is one of my favorite times of the day, lying in bed and talking with my love.

But, another is reading on the couch.

I'm with Mimi. Getting cozy on the couch with a warm blanket and a good book. I love that. Also, evenings after my husband gets home and we all have dinner, we all cozy up on the couch together to watch a short movie or I sit and watch the kids play with my husband on the floor. That's relaxing.

I forgot to mention - I'm doing a giveaway on my blog for my new shop. I'd love for you to enter it.

Lovely photos . . . you're already making me hungry. ;)

For holiday plans, we're booked solid through Saturday . . . but I'm hoping to enjoy the simple pleasure of getting up early with the kids, snuggling on the couch and reading my Bible each morning. Maybe we'll even get a chance to put some puzzles together!

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and thank you for visiting my blog.

Hi,
I wanted to stop in and say hi. Your resting under a quilt with your puppy sounds soooo nice. I have been doing alot of resting here since my surgery. Things went pretty good. I can have no weight on my foot for 6 weeks so things are very different here right now. It is forcing me to slow down and rest more, that might be a good thing : ) I am still planning on taking photos of the beatiful swap things you gave me and posting them soon. I am getting a little stronger every day. I hope you and your loved ones and pets have a beautiful Thanksgiving : )
Hugs,
Kathy
