An Admission

There are many things that I realize I rarely mention about my life here on this blog. I don't think I've ever mentioned that I occasionally scrapbook. (I also like to make altered travel journals, which seems so much different to me than scrapbooking, in a way.) Here are a few recent layouts (sorry for the bad photos; I was too lazy to take them out of their sleeves.) I adore Ali Edwards' style, as is probably obvious. I'm really enjoying using divided page protectors of various sizes, such as the top and bottom images, and I found an awesome selection of divided pages at The Container Store last week! I like to keep my pages pretty simple.
I know some people make fun of scrapbookers or just don't get it, but I do find a peaceful satisfaction in reviewing events of my life when I sit down and look at my albums. I also tend to have a short memory, so this is one way for me to try to capture memorable events!
Do you scrapbook?

I did a beautiful scrapbook in high school for my best friend and it was so overwhelming that I never did another, haha. I've been slowly working up to doing digital scrapbooking, because I like the idea of not having to keep supplies around and I hate having my life stuck in iPhoto. I'm trying to create a rotating photo space and a wall of photos worth framing.

PS I buy those pages for my recipe books and they are quite nice... ("not only do i work here, i'm a client!")

I occasionally scrapbook too! Not all the time, but I get whims and scrap like crazy for a week or two and then it goes dormant for a while. Stay tuned...I just finished a scrapbook for my sister's birthday next monday!

Surprisingly, I don't scrapbook. I say it that way because I've done just about every craft there is and enjoy taking photos but just never got started with scrapbooking. I suppose the closest I have come is doing my kids' baby books with pictures and keepsakes like snippets of hair, etc.

I don't scrapbook but I wish I did. My "scrapbooking" is my blog. I might have to start printing it off and putting it in an album :0)

i have on and off (mostly off) but love the artistic feel of putting a page together ...and looking at it much like you do.

Where else do you find divided page protectors? I'm looking for some to fit postcards of varying sizes. Thanks for this post! I didn't realize the Container Store would have these.

Ooo, it was so much fun hearing about all of your various projects - Jessica, please share your scrapbook with us. And Shawna, I'd love to see your wall of photos.

Michael, I couldn't link to your blog, but I also purchased divided page protectors at scrapbook.com, archival safe baseball sleeve holders on amazon, and even found more divided pages today at Office Depot! Good luck.

Great insight on scrapbooking. I'm simple too. I really love looking back at the things we have done, the places we have been and how we have changed.
